
Ronald H. Williams
Ronald "Ron" Williams brings more than five decades of leadership in public finance and banking, including 44 years as the elected Treasurer for the City of Suffolk (1982–2025), making him the longest-serving Treasurer in the City’s history. Elected citywide eleven consecutive times, he led the office with distinction while earning the designations of Master Governmental Treasurer and Professional Governmental Treasurer from the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service. He currently serves as Senior Advisor with Virginia Auction Company. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles as Assistant Vice President with Atlantic Permanent Federal Savings Bank and Central Fidelity Bank/Fidelity American Bank.
A recognized leader at the state and local levels, he has served as President and officer of the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia, Vice Chairman of the Virginia State OPEB Trust Board, founding member of the Virginia SNAP Advisory Board, and appointee to the State Council on Local Debt by Governor L. Douglas Wilder. His distinguished service has been recognized with numerous honors, including the George W. Titus Award for Sustained Excellence, the L. Gene Harding Lifetime Achievement Award, and Treasurer of the Year. Deeply committed to community service, he has held leadership roles with United Way—raising more than $500,000 through the Treasurer’s Annual Golf Tournament—as well as with numerous civic, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations throughout the region.

David A. Bateman
David joined Virginia Auction Company, Inc. in 2012 and has played an integral role in the company’s growth and operational success. In 2015, he attended the East Coast School of Auctioneering under the instruction of Professor Charles D. Rudd, earning his auctioneer’s license in 2016. His dedication to the profession and strong leadership abilities led to his promotion to General Manager in 2021.
As General Manager, David oversees the day-to-day operations of Virginia Auction Company, including auction planning and execution, client relations, contract management, marketing strategies and oversight. He works closely with municipal clients, attorneys, and private sellers to coordinate asset liquidation services and ensure each auction is conducted efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with all legal requirements. He supervises staff, manages logistics for live and online auctions, develops business strategy, and implements operational improvements to enhance performance and customer experience.
Committed to professional development and sound business leadership, David has earned a Certificate of Completion in Management/Business Essentials from Harvard Business School in 2024. His combination of industry expertise, operational leadership, and business acumen continues to strengthen Virginia Auction Company’s reputation for professionalism, integrity, and results.

Gabrielle Collins
Gabrielle "Gabby" Collins joined Virginia Auction Company in May 2024 and has quickly become a valued member of our team. From the outset, she has played an important role in facilitating auction operations, supporting clients and customers, and assisting with internal personnel coordination. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail help ensure that auctions run smoothly from initial intake through final settlement, while her approachable communication style enhances the experience for buyers, sellers, and partners alike.
In February 2025, Gabby earned her auctioneer’s license after completing her training at Continental Auctioneers School, further expanding her professional expertise and contributions to the company. Prior to joining Virginia Auction Company, she worked with children with special needs in various capacities, developing patience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills that continue to serve her well in the fast-paced auction environment. She also brings experience from diverse office settings, where she refined her abilities in administration, data management, and team support. Gabby’s combination of professionalism, compassion, and operational knowledge makes her an integral part of Virginia Auction Company’s continued success.

Andrea J. Buer
Andrea J. Buer joined Virginia Auction Company in October 2019 as a Receptionist and has since advanced into key administrative and operational leadership roles within the organization. She holds four Career Studies Certificates and an Associate’s Degree in Medical Office Administrative Assisting from Paul D. Camp Community College, where she graduated Cum Laude while balancing her academic achievements with raising three young children—demonstrating exceptional dedication, discipline, and work ethic.
Upon joining the company, Andrea quickly distinguished herself by modernizing and strengthening the firm’s filing and records management systems, significantly improving efficiency and organization. Her expertise expanded into data tracking, compliance documentation, and oversight of nonjudicial foreclosure processes. She currently serves as Nonjudicial Administrative Manager, where she reviews nonjudicial title searches across all jurisdictions in which the company operates, ensuring accuracy and procedural compliance. In addition, she manages all Indian Acres auction processes from initiation through completion. Andrea is presently furthering her professional credentials by pursuing her Title Examiner’s License, reinforcing her commitment to excellence and continued growth within the industry.
